team, we’re doing it: we’re putting bacon *in* our burgers. yep. we’re grinding up bacon ends, combining that with ground beef, and shaping it into bacon burgers. and we’re not sad about it. not one bit.
these bacon burgers were one of my first reintroductions to beef after an, oh, 29-year hiatus. and i can honestly say that now i get what all the fuss about good burgers is about. and these bacon burgers are some good burgers….
you might think that, having recently made garlic chicken meatballs, this recipe for greek turkey meatballs would have been quick and easy to develop. indeed, i might have thought that. turns out we would have all been mistaken….
friends, i think spring might have finally arrived in maine! the farmers’ market *actually* has vegetables other than kale and winter squash! this is an exciting milestone. it’s sort of a funny thing, having a seasonal food blog in a state where spring and summer – and all of the delicious things that come with them – take their sweet time showing up….
so, this is a little bit out of order, perhaps, but after posting chorizo and sweet potato tacos last week, i realized that not everyone has access to mexican chorizo, which is sad. luckily, mexican chorizo is suuuuper simple to make (if you can open jars of spices, you’re more than halfway there). well, super simple provided you find a recipe you like….
when we lived in massachusetts, my husband and i had a favorite mexican place near our house that we always visited whenever we wanted some authentic (well, by east coast standards anyway) mexican food*. what the place lacked in ambiance (depending on your view of televisions showing the current fútbol game), it more than made up for with seriously delicious food (and cheap prices!)….
