tchad and i went camping in acadia national park up in bar harbor, me last week. before we left, i thought it would be fun to do a little “tasty seasons goes camping” feature and dazzle you with all of the fun things you can cook over/in an open fire. if you google “camping food”, all sorts of nifty lists and ideas pop up with all sorts of clever things you can do to feed yourself under the stars….

so, good news/bad news, team:
good news: i have figured out how to go from having sugar and butter safely nestled in their respective storage spots to warm chocolate chip cookie in a mug and on my spoon in less than 5 minutes.
bad news: I HAVE FIGURED OUT HOW TO GO FROM HAVING SUGAR AND BUTTER SAFELY NESTLED IN THEIR RESPECTIVE STORAGE SPOTS TO WARM CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE IN A MUG AND ON MY SPOON IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES!…

last winter, my husband and i attended a friend’s wedding celebration at barcelona wine bar, which is a spanish tapas restaurant in boston (there are a few other locations too). among the many, many dishes that were set down on the table for us to enjoy was an unassuming little casserole dish that looked to contain chick peas and spinach….
rhubarb cornmeal scones
these are, far and away, the best thing with rhubarb i’ve ever eaten. and no, before you ask, i’ve never tried anything with rhubarb in it ever before BUT that doesn’t change the fact that these rhubarb cornmeal scones are seriously delicious. i promise….
