i realize i’m a bit late to the party on turning frozen bananas into ice cream, but i didn’t want to post a recipe for this tasty frozen treat until it was actually, well, tasty….

um, apparently we’re 5 days into july?!? not sure how that happened. i could have sworn june *just* started. i guess this is what happens when you go camping for a week, then have a big birthday party plus two weddings all in the same month (and all out of town)….
fresh pea soup
every spring for the past few years, i’ve been really excited when the fresh peas show up at the market. i always stuff a ton into a bag, knowing the yield will be small once i shell them, then bring them home and try to think of something spectacular enough to be worthy of them (and the *seeming* hours of shelling…). when i finally come up with something “special enough” for the peas and take the first bite, i invariably wonder “are these actually better than frozen peas? or just 24x more work?”…

so, apparently there is some wildly famous ice cream that involves cherries and chocolate? i’m sure i’ve tried it ever, but it’s definitely not a favorite flavor of mine. which may leave you wondering why i’m about to launch into a soliloquy on why this chocolate cherry rosemary ice cream is my new favorite thing ever. i mean, rosemary? what???
